Similar Species:
  • 3833.1 Platphalonidia magdalenae lacks the contrasting dark terminal line. The fringe is less tinted with brown rust and the patch of dark-brown scales in the subterminal area is reduced or absent.

Taxonomic Notes: Platphalonidia plicana (Walsingham, 1884), range extension, was formerly assigned to Platphalonia in Metzler and Albu (2013), revised status, Brown et al. (2019:S2).
