Papilio garcia Rothschild & Jordan, 1906
Taxonomic Notes: Pterourus alexiares garcia (Rothschild & Jordan, 1906), formerly placed in the genus Papilio, is recorded from Texas by Grishin and A. Warren (2004), News Lepid. Soc. 46(3): 75-77, 83, 15 figs. The name Pterourus was treated as a valid genus in Miller & Brown (1981) and as a synonym of Papilio in Hodges et al. (1983) (Checklist). Subsequent authors, i. e. Tyler et al. (1994), Lamas (2004) and Shiraiwa & Grishin (2014), have retained Pterourus as valid.
