Distribution: Coastal US west to WI and TX - Miller et al. (2021)
Type locality (subrotata): Central Alabama.
Type locality (superba): San Antonio, TX.
Similar Species:

Synonymy: Heterocampa subrotata Harvey, 1874
Heterocampa celtiphaga Harvey, 1874
Heterocampa superba Edwards, 1885
Taxonomic Notes: Rifargia subrotata (Harvey, 1874), n. comb. in Becker (2014), was formerly in the genus Heterocampa.
