Distribution: Canada: southern BC; USA: WA, ID, MT, OR, northern CA south to Santa Clara and Tulare counties.
Type locality: California.
Similar Species:
  • Acronicta othello (Smith, 1908) has a smudgy appearance and is found in southern CA.
  • Acronicta impressa (Walker, 1856)
  • Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.)
Synonymy: Acronycta perdita Grote, 1874
