Distribution: Canada: ON, BC; USA: CT, VT, MD, WA, OR, CA. Similar Species: Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.) Synonymy: • Nepticula microtheriella Stainton, 1854 • Stigmella cathepostis Kemperman & Wilkinson, 1985 Taxonomic Notes: Stigmella microtheriella includes as a synonym Stigmella cathepostis Kemperman & Wilkinson, 1985 in Nieukerken et al. (2016). This species is now recognized within the North American fauna north of Mexico with specimens found in both eastern and western North America. (Eiseman & van Nieukerken 2015).
