Larva and Host Plants: Host familiy: Fagaceae.  Host genera: Castanea Quercus.  Host extended: miner (Braun 1972).  (Kimberley & Douglas 2025) Similar Species: Pinned specimens of related species. Synonymy: zelleriella (Clemens, 1859) (Tischeria) - MONA 1983: 143 complanoides (Frey & Boll, 1873) (Tischeria) latipenella (Chambers, 1878) (Tischeria) latipennella; ([various], [no date]) (Tischeria) missp.; TL: (no type). sulphurea (Frey & Boll, 1878) (Tischeria) - MONA 1983: [142] Taxonomic Notes: Coptotriche zelleriella, formerly placed in the genus Tischeria, includes as a synonym Tischeria sulphurea Frey & Boll, 1878 in Puplesis & Diškus (2003).
