| Taxonomic Notes: |
(Agrotis) brunneipennis Grote, 1875 includes as a synonym Rhynchagrotis adulta of authors, not Guenée, 1852 in Lafontaine (1998). The name adulta Guenée, listed twice in Hodges et al. (1983) (Checklist) as Sericaglaea adulta and again as Rhynchagrotis adulta with brunneipennis as a junior synonym, was described from an an unpublished painting by John Abbot and is excluded as a nomen dubium by Schmidt (in Pohl & Nanz (eds.) 2023). |
