Synonymy: ferrea (Frey, 1870) (Gelechia); TL: Riffelberg, Switzerland. alfkeni (Amsel, 1938) (Xystophora) latiuscula (Heinemann, 1870) (Doryphora) Taxonomic Notes: Monochroa ferrea (Frey, 1870) is now recognized within the North American fauna; DNA barcoded specimens from British Columbia and the Yukon (Greg Pohl, in litt., 22April2026).
