  • Taxonomic Notes: Papilio demoleus Linnaeus, 1758 is recognized as an introduced species by Pelham (in Pohl & Nanz (eds.) 2023). Formerly treated as an extralimital accidental import (reported from Palo Alto, Santa Clara Co., CA) in Pelham (2008), it has subsequently been repeatedly reported in southern California and larvae were found a citrus tree on Key West.
