Similar Species: Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.) Synonymy: haematica (Zeller, 1872) (Anerastia); TL: New York and Massachusetts. Taxonomic Notes: Peoria haematica (Zeller, 1872): This species was erroneously placed as a synonym of P. approximella in the 2023 checklist. It is a valid NA species, and was recognized as such in the 2025 errata.
