Distribution: Restricted to New Mexico.
Type Locality: Mesilla Valley, Las Cruces, NM.
Similar Species:
  • Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.)
Taxonomic Notes: Hemileuca artemis is treated variously by authors as a full species and as a synonym of 7731 Hemileuca nevadensis Stretch, 1872 and may represent a subspecies of nevadensis, Dupuis et al. (2018). This species is tentatively listed here as a full species following Kitching et al. (2018).
