SYN. - MONA 1983: [85] Taxonomic Notes: Stigmella populetorum (Frey & Boll, 1878) includes as a synonym Stigmella aromella Wilkinson & Scoble, 1979 (van Nieukerken & Eiseman in Pohl & Nanz (eds.) 2023).
