Distribution: Long Island, NY to FL and southernmost TX. Larva and Host Plants: Host familiy: Polyporaceae[Fungi] Detritophagous.  Host genera: Fungi Detritophagous[plant].  (Kimberley & Douglas 2025) Genitalia: eee Similar Species: 930668 Hypenopsis macula: is not found north or west of Florida.H. sonora is found in AZ, NM and southernmost TX. Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.) Synonymy: calusa Landry & Landry, 2023 (Hypenopsis) - MONA 1983: [NEW]; Holotype: Archbold Bio., Lake Placid, Highlands Co., FL.
