Larva and Host Plants: Host familiy: Ranunculaceae Smilacaceae.  Host genera: Clematis Smilax.  Host extended: NOT-Vitis (Arnett 2001).  (Kimberley & Douglas 2025) Similar Species: Pinned specimens of related species. Synonymy: sepulchralis (Guérin-Méneville, 1832) (Thyris) - MONA 1983: 6077 lugubris (Boisduval, 1852) (Thyris) margaritana (Clemens, 1862) (Dysodia) Taxonomic Notes: Pseudothyris sepulchralis (Guérin-Méneville, 1832) was transferred from the genus Thyris to the genus Pseudothyris, gen. n., in Thiele (1986).
