Synonymy: nostralis (Guenée, 1854) (Pyralis) - MONA 1983: [NEW] dissimilalis (Möschler, 1890) (Parasopia) psammioxantha (Dyar, 1917) (Herculia) sordidalis (Barnes & McDunnough, 1913) (Herculia) - MONA 1983: [5531] tenuis (Butler, 1880) (Pyralis) venezuelensis (Amsel, 1956) (Herculia) Taxonomic Notes: Hypsopygia nostralis (Guenée, 1854) was a synonym of Herculia sordidalis (B. & McD., 1913) in Hodges et al. (1983) (Checklist). This species was placed in the genus Ocrasa in Shaffer and Solis (1995) and subsequently transferred to the genus Hypsopygia in Leraut (2006).
