Larva and Host Plants: Host familiy: Apocynaceae[Asclepiadaceae] Bignoniaceae Fabaceae Malvaceae[Tiliaceae] Salicaceae Verbenaceae.  Host genera: Asclepias Citharexylum Erythrina Inga Kigelia Nerium Salix Triumfetta.  (Shropshire & Douglas 2025) Similar Species: Pinned specimens of related species. Synonymy: monstralis Guenée, 1854 (Agathodes) - MONA 1983: [NEW] designalis of authors; not Guenée, 1854 (Agathodes) misappl. - MONA 1983: [5240] floridalis (Hulst, 1886) (Stenurges) Taxonomic Notes: Agathodes monstralis Guenée, 1854, formerly treated as a subspecies of Agathodes designalis Guenée, 1854 in Munroe (1995), is raised to full species status with Stenurges foridalis Hulst, 1886 as a synonym. A. designalis [5240] is extralimital north of Costa Rica. Trop. Lepid. Res. 25(2): 80-97.
