Larva and Host Plants: Host familiy: Alismaticeae Araceae Cabombaceae Hydrocharitaceae Lemnaceae Menyanthaceae Polygonaceae Pontederiaceae Potamogetonaceae Typhaceae[Sparganiaceae].  Host genera: Brasenia Eichhornia Lemna Limnobium Menyanthes Orontium Polygonum[unresolved] Potamogeton Sagittaria Sparganium Vallisneria.  Notes: polyphagous on aquatic plants (Forbes 1923); aquatic plants (Munroe 1972a).  (Shropshire & Douglas 2025) Similar Species: Pinned specimens of related species. Synonymy: icciusalis (Walker, 1859) (Leucochroma) - MONA 1983: 4748 ssp. a. icciusalis (Walker, 1859) (Leucochroma)  formosalis (Clemens, 1860) (Hydrocampa)  genuialis (Lederer, 1863) (Hydrocampa) ssp. b. albiplaga (Munroe, 1972) (Munroessa) ssp. c. avalona (Munroe, 1972) (Munroessa) Taxonomic Notes: Elophila icciusalis: formerly in Munroessa, now a synonym of Elophila.
