Host familiy: Ericaceae Myricaceae.  Host genera: Myrica Vaccinium.  Host extended: buds & blossoms, later leaves (Averill & Sylvia 1998).  (Kimberley & Douglas 2025)
Similar Species:

Synonymy:
  • sulphurea (Packard, 1873) (Eupistheria) - MONA 1983: 6283
  • olivalis (Hulst, 1898) (Diastictis)
  • sulphuraria (Packard, 1876) (Thamnonoma) emend.; TL: (no type).
  • Taxonomic Notes: Macaria sulphurea (Packard, 1873), formerly placed in the genus Itame in Hodges et al. (1983) (Checklist) and in the genus Speranza in Ferguson (2008), is returned to genus Macaria in Sihvonen & Skou (2015) following Scoble & Krüger (2002).
