Larva and Host Plants: Host familiy: Betulaceae Rosaceae Salicaceae.  Host genera: Alnus Betula Populus Dasiphora[=Potentilla] Physocarpus Potentilla Salix.  (Kimberley & Douglas 2025) Similar Species: 91a0712 Macaria boreata Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.) Synonymy: anataria (Swett, 1913) (Diastictis) - MONA 1983: 6287 Taxonomic Notes: Macaria anataria (Swett, 1913), formerly placed in the genus Itame in Hodges et al. (1983) (Checklist) and in the genus Speranza in Ferguson (2008), is returned to genus Macaria in Sihvonen & Skou (2015) following Scoble & Krüger (2002).
