Larva and Host Plants: Host familiy: Anacardiaceae Ericaceae Fagaceae Rosaceae.  Host genera: Adenostoma Arctostaphylos Cercocarpus Malosma Quercus Rhus.  (Shropshire & Douglas 2025) Similar Species: Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.) Synonymy: sinuaria (Barnes & McDunnough, 1916) (Cochisea) n. comb. - MONA 1983: 6650 Taxonomic Notes: Biston sinuaria (Barnes & McDunnough, 1916), n. comb., was formerly in the genus Cochisea, a new synonym of Biston (Schmidt & McGuinness in Pohl & Nanz (eds.) 2023).
