Distribution: Canada: NL to MB; USA: ME east to MN and south to FL and TX. Range "aligns with that of eastern deciduous trees." - Miller et al. (2021). Larva and Host Plants: Host familiy: Fagaceae Juglandaceae Platanaceae Rosaceae Salicaceae Sapindaceae.  Host genera: Acer Carya Castanea Fagus Platanus Populus Quercus.  Host extended: leaves (Wagner 2005); principally Fagaceae, records of Acer & Populus may be erroneous (Wagner 2005)...  (Kimberley & Douglas 2025) Similar Species: Pinned specimens of related species.
