Distribution: Newfoundland south to Florida and west to Utah and Arizona - Miller et al. (2021) Larva and Host Plants: Host familiy: Araliaceae Betulaceae Ebenaceae Fagaceae Juglandaceae Malvaceae[Tiliaceae] Rosaceae Rubiaceae Sapindaceae[Aceraceae] Ulmaceae.  Host genera: Acer Betula Carya Castanea Crataegus Diospyros Fagus Juglans Malus Ostrya Pinckneya Prunus Quercus Schefflera[=Brassaia] Tilia Ulmus.  Notes: polyphagous on trees & shrubs (Forbes 1948); on leaves (Wagner 2005); some records may refer to Lochmaeus bilineata (Wagner 2005).  (Shropshire & Douglas 2025) Similar Species: Pinned specimens of related species.
