Larva and Host Plants: Chamaesyce hyssopifolia. (see references) -- Host familiy: Apocynaceae[Asclepiadaceae] Euphorbiaceae.  Host genera: Asclepias Euphorbia Funastrum.  Notes: variety of annual Euphorbiaceae (Powell & Opler 2009).  (Shropshire & Douglas 2025) Description/ Field Marks: Head red to orange with white front; center of the back of the head usually white. Similar Species: 930426 Pygarctia lorula: front of head gray, has apparently not been found in Texas. Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.) Synonymy: roseicapitis (Neumoegen & Dyar, 1893) (Euchaetes) - MONA 1983: 8253; TL: California and Arizona. Taxonomic Notes: Pygarctia roseicapitis (Neumoegen & Dyar, 1893) was origianly described as a variety of Euchaetes elegans Stretch, 1874.
