Distribution: Eastern US and Canada. Larva and Host Plants: Host familiy: Fagaceae Detritophagous.  Host genera: Quercus Detritophagous[plant].  Host extended: Detritophagous, dead Quercus leaves (Wagner et al 2011).  (Kimberley & Douglas 2025) Description/ Field Marks: An eastern species. Antenna of male has node within basal third. Similar Species: 930517 Tetanolita palligera: is a western species. 930517.1n Tetanolita nr. palligera: Tetanolita nr. palligera ranges from Mexico north to Utah and east to New England. Not reliably identified without dissection or DNA. 930539 Renia sobrialis: is an eastern species. Antenna of male has node beyond basal third. Pinned specimens of related species. Synonymy: floridana Smith, 1895 (Tetanolita) - MONA 1983: 8368 ssp. a. floridana Smith, 1895 (Tetanolita) ssp. b. fulata Smith, 1909 (Tetanolita)
