Larva and Host Plants: Host familiy: Urticaceae.  Host genera: Urtica Laportea.  (Shropshire & Douglas 2025) Similar Species: Pinned specimens of related species. Synonymy: edictalis Walker, 1859 (Hypena) - MONA 1983: 8452 lentiginosa (Grote, 1873) (Meghypena) velifera (Grote, 1873) (Meghypena) Taxonomic Notes: Hypena edictalis: Formerly placed in the genus Bomolocha.
