Larva and Host Plants: Host familiy: Asteraceae.  Host genera: Aster[unresolved] Doellingeria Erigeron[=Conyza] Euthamia Hieracium Solidago.  Notes: specialist on a number of herbaceous Asteraceae (Crabo et al 2014); likely other Asteraceae (Wagner et al 2011).  (Shropshire & Douglas 2025) Similar Species: Pinned specimens of related species. Synonymy: florea Guenée, 1852 (Cucullia) - MONA 1983: 10197 indicta Smith, 1904 (Cucullia) obscurior Smith, 1892 (Cucullia) Taxonomic Notes: Cucullia florea: Includes as a synonym 10198.1 - Cucullia obscurior.
