Larva and Host Plants: Host familiy: Asteraceae Plumbaginaceae.  Host genera: Aster[unresolved] Centaurea Chloracantha Erigeron[=Conyza] Heterotheca Limonium Pluchea Psilactis[=Machaeranthera] Symphyotrichum[=Aster].  Notes: Asteraceae (Zhang 1994); tunnels into flower disks (Wagner et al 2011).  (Shropshire & Douglas 2025) Similar Species: Pinned specimens of related species. Synonymy: arcigera (Guenée, 1852) (Anthoecia) - MONA 1983: 11128 ssp. a. arcigera (Guenée, 1852) (Anthoecia)  arcifera (Guenée, 1852) (Anthoecia) emend.; TL: (no type).  spraguei (Grote, 1863) (Anthoecia) ssp. b. ferricasta Smith, 1906 (Schinia)  ferricosta; McDunnough, 1938 (Schinia) missp.; TL: (no type).  limbalis (Grote, 1875) (Lygranthoecia) - MONA 1983: [11129] Taxonomic Notes: Schinia arcigera: Includes as a synonym Schinia limbalis [11129].
