Larva and Host Plants: Host familiy: Asteraceae.  Host genera: Gaillardia.  Notes: larvae tunnel into flowerheads (Wagner et al 201).  (Shropshire & Douglas 2025) Similar Species: Pinned specimens of related species. Synonymy: volupia (Fitch, 1868) (Alaria) - MONA 1983: 11106 aden (Strecker, 1898) (Rhododipsa) - MONA 1983: [11109] masoni (Smith, 1896) (Rhododipsa) - MONA 1983: [11108] volupides (Strand, 1916) (Rhododipsa) Taxonomic Notes: Schinia volupia (Fitch, 1868) includes as a synonym 11108 Schinia masoni, Zootaxa. 3716(2): 157-191. 11109 Schinia aden (Strecker, 1898) is included as a synonym of Schinia masoni in Hardwick (1996).
