Larva and Host Plants: Host familiy: Asteraceae Betulaceae Poaceae.  Host genera: Alnus Aster[unresolved].  Notes: grasses & aster (McCabe 1980, Godfrey 1972); very broad generalist on many kinds of herbaceous vegetation (Crabo et al 2014).  (Shropshire & Douglas 2025) Similar Species: Pinned specimens of related species. Synonymy: liquida (Grote, 1881) (Mamestra) - MONA 1983: 10308 ssp. a. liquida (Grote, 1881) (Mamestra) ssp. b. meodana (Smith, 1910) (Mamestra) Taxonomic Notes: Trichordestra liquida: Formerly placed in the genus Lacanobia.
