Larva and Host Plants: Host familiy: Fabaceae Poaceae Nyctaginaceae Polygonaceae.  Host genera: Abronia Lathyrus Polygonum.  Host extended: grasses (Powell & Opler 2009); burrowing cutworm (Crabo et al 2014).  (Kimberley & Douglas 2025) Similar Species: Pinned specimens of related species. Synonymy: arietis (Grote, 1879) (Mamestra) - MONA 1983: 10364 etacta (Smith, 1900) (Anarta) - MONA 1983: [10330] Taxonomic Notes: Psammopolia arietis: Formerly placed in the genus Lasionycta.
