Larva and Host Plants: Host familiy: Betulaceae Fagaceae Ulmaceae.  Host genera: Castanea Fagus Ostrya Quercus Ulmus.  Host extended: presumably other woody plants (Wagner 2005).  (Kimberley & Douglas 2025) Similar Species: Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.) Synonymy: shurtleffi Packard, 1864 (Heterogenea) - MONA 1983: 4657 shurtleffii; Dyar, 1898 (Heterogenea) missp.; TL: (no type).
