Similar Species: Pinned specimens of related species. (Hint: select View by Region on the related species page.) Synonymy: pavonacella Clemens, 1860 (Brenthia) - MONA 1983: 2627 amphicarpeoeana (Chambers, 1878) (Microaethia) Note: Authorship was inadvertently attributed to “(Clemens, 1878)” in Pohl & Nanz (eds.) (2023) (Pohl & Nanz 2025). pavonicella; Chambers, 1878 (Brenthia) missp.; TL: (no type). Taxonomic Notes: Brenthia pavonacella Clemens, 1860 erroneously includes as a synonym amphicarpeoeana (Clemens, 1878) in Pohl & Nanz (eds.) (2023); the author should be (Chambers, 1878). Chambers (1878) explained that he intended to propose this name prior to learning that the species had likely already been described by Clemens.
