Larva and Host Plants: Host familiy: Poaceae[none_specified] Ericaceae Detritophagous.  Host genera: Vaccinium Detritophagous.  Host extended: ?leaf litter (Heppner 2007); reared on mixture of blueberry & dead grass (Wagner et al 2011).  (Kimberley & Douglas 2025) Similar Species: Pinned specimens of related species. Synonymy: orciferalis (Walker, 1859) (Hormisa) - MONA 1983: 8360 harti Franclemont & Todd, 1983 (Macrochilo) emend.; TL: (no type). hartii (French, 1894) (Pallachira) pupillaris (Grote, 1873) (Sisyrhypena) Taxonomic Notes: Macrochilo orciferalis: Formerly placed in the genus Hormisa.
